A Very Special Prayer on This Very Special Day for a Very Special Person

Image
I pray you focus on WHO GOD IS   Not on WHO YOU ARE .  I pray you know who you are in Christ Jesus. I pray you will have a revelation of who God really is as you read His Holy Word. I pray that your heart be filled with the abundance of God's love so that your mouth speaks words of thankfulness, peace, joy, and praise. I pray for you to Father God in the name of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen I pray you feel no condemnation from this prayer. I pray you do not feel preached at but loved by me, and just loved by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

"A Work in Progress"

Image
A Work In Progress (DAILY BREAD) by Cindy Hess Kasper Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. — 2 Peter 3:18 Pablo Casals was considered to be the preeminent cellist of the first half of the 20th century. When he was still playing his cello in the middle of his tenth decade of life, a young reporter asked, “Mr. Casals, you are 95 years old and the greatest cellist that ever lived. Why do you still practice 6 hours a day?” Mr. Casals answered, “Because I think I’m making progress.” What a great attitude! As believers in Christ, we should never be satisfied to think we have reached some self proclaimed pinnacle of spiritual success, but rather continue to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Jesus reminds us in John 15:16 that He chose us to “go and bear fruit.” The result of healthy growth is continuing to bear spiritual fruit throughout our lives. Our Lord promises: “I am the vine, you are the

"Thus Saith the Lord"

Image
"There are streaks of the light of joy to herald our eternal rising sun." (Charles Spurgeon) I am excited about starting a study of Jesus in the Old Testament when my books come. I feel this study will most certainly be a streak of the light of joy to herald His coming. I will spend my free time devoted to this with God's help, and thereby be ready with oil in my lamp. Praise our beautiful Savior!   "The lawmaker became the lawkeeper and then died for lawbreakers ."   The more of God's Word we read and put in our minds going down to our hearts, the more there will be for the Holy Spirit to bring to our remembrance! As we store up His Word in our minds and down to our hearts, there is more Holy Spirit communication available.  We can begin to know "Thus saith the Lord"  vs. "I just feel like that."

May We All Hear the Trumpet Call!

Image
From a Clarion Call for Saints and Sinners by Charles Spurgeon: "Wherefore, my soul, stand thou on tiptoe, be not flat-footed, as some beasts are; have thou thy wings always ready for flight, so that, if thy Lord should come at cock-crow, or at daybreak, or at midnight, thou shalt be equally ready, at his bidding, to be up and away! I sound for myself, and for my beloved friends, this clarion note : 'Boot and saddle, up and prepare. Arise ye, and depart.' To whom that note may come with greatest point I cannot tell, for I am no prophet; but let it come to us all. Let none of us begin to strike root here below, for this is not our rest.''   Not long ago the word "Clarion" was in my mind when I woke up. I had heard this word, but did not know what it meant, or the significance of my hearing it in my mind the first thing upon awakening.

Choose to Believe God is Sovereign and He is Faithful!

Image
"God is Sovereign! He is Faithful! It is Our Choice to believe this!" Thinking of this truth yesterday morning, I realized how different my life is when I choose to believe it. My praise becomes greater. "What if's" and "Why" become quieter and soon disappear. Thanksgiving and praise to my King overflows in my recognition of His faithfulness. I am in good company with King David who was an awful sinner, but also one who recognized God's faithfulness in forgiving him as he chose to praise His Savior over and over amid the pleas for forgiveness.  His despondent spirit was raised each time he was forgiven, and delivered. Thus we have the author of most of the book of Psalms. Psalm 43:5 NLT Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

Be Restored to Father God by Asking for Jesus to Be Your Savior

Image
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Romans 1:16 Father God, what a simple thing it is to say the sinner's prayer. What a powerful change it is when a person means what he says. I pray for my cousin  today that he grows in You, that he has a desire to read Your word, and wants to learn about You.    May he share with his wife his decision to pray the sinner's prayer with me yesterday. Protect him from the enemy of his soul. Grow him in Jesus as he reads Your Word and talks with other Christians. May he be the one to lead his mom to You. Give him the opportunity, and Your words to say.   In Jesus' name. Amen.

Guard Our Hearts and Minds in Christ Jesus, Father God, Through Your Peace Which Transcends All Understanding

Image
Our Father God in heaven, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Give Your children discernment in these last days. Lead us by Your Holy Spirit and Your Word. Show us what we must reject that is not in alignment with Your Word. Forgive us for grieving You when we choose what satisfies our flesh. Open our eyes to Your truth. Keep us from allowing our minds and hearts to be polluted by what the world embraces. May we filter all we see and hear through Your Word and Your Holy Spirit. Help us take more time in Your Word and less time with what we think helps us understand Your Word. Jesus, You are the Living Word. Father, cause Your Written Word to come alive apart from anyone else's interpretations, vain imaginations which You say we must cast down, and commentaries. Your Word says in John 14:26, " But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that

Dallas Jenkins and the Mormons

Image
Dallas Jenkins in an interview about The Chosen said, “...the people who only want to read the Bible won’t be watching this series .” During the discussion, the Mormon partners and the show's host joke that the book of Revelation instructs us not to add to the Bible. The show host, Dallas Jenkins, discusses with them how it is okay to ignore what John said in Revelation and add to the stories of the Bible (for the series). Apparently it is ok, because Bible believing Christians won't be watching the series anyway. Straight from the Horse's mouth. Need we say more about The Chosen?

ADONAI

Image
Exodus 6:3 (NLT)  I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty’ —but I did not reveal my name, Yahweh (Adonai) to them. Adonai means that God is Lord of lords, Master of masters, King of kings. Revelation 19:16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords. Praying as I worked in the kitchen this morning, Adonai was on my lips. Also Abba Father. I felt so close to God as I said His names. I then thought of how these names connect with our season of celebrating His coming to earth to live among men. Matthew 1:23 The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means God with us). Jesus was born to die that we might live and have the gift of His Holy Spirit living in us if we confess our sins and invite Him into our hearts.    He is indeed with us, abiding in us as we allow. So marvelous! Therefore, we are restored to our Heavenly Father so

Renewing of Your Mind Brings Transformation

Image
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV 1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,  holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.   2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.   The renewing of your mind brings transformation whereby we are able to show with our lives what the perfect will of God is. Father God, may our minds be transformed as we present our human selves to you each day as difficult as it may be as we struggle against the flesh. It is difficult, but it is our reasonable service as the Apostle Paul tells us. Thank You, it is possible in the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Is it the right choice?  We have the God given ability to choose.  However, what we choose may not be right. We have the choice of eat the fruit or obey God, get angry and say hurtful words or do what God says in Proverbs, abort an unborn child or obey "Thou shalt not kill."  change our gender or submit these feelings to God and ask Him to help you or do not enter the Holy City. What we choose has consequences. God forgives us if we ask and He helps us each day to make choices that are right  The payoff is bigger than you have perhaps ever considered. Please consider now, your way to choose, or God's way to obey. It is your choice either way. Let your choice be God's choice for you not Satan's. Really, it is not your choice. It is either God or Satan. If you choose what feels good, or go with the flow it is really going Satan's way. There is only one other which is the right choice, going with God.

Soon I Will Be Gone in the Rapture!

John 14:30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. (Jesus' Words) I hear the sound in the mulberry trees today. God keeps me going on and on. I must stop to go to the kitchen. But first, I wanted to share this. Thanks for letting me. I prayed this morning that Satan would have nothing in me. I want to have oil in my lamp. I pray my glass is clean to reflect Jesus' love to others. I pray the smut of the enemy will not be found, that God will trim my wick. I may only have this year because soon I will be gone in the rapture. I won't have any longer to talk to anyone about Jesus and it will be too late to pray for them. Father God, cause me to redeem the time today. Thank You for good prayer time while I was working in the kitchen early this morning while Hollie was sleeping. Thank You she can sleep later now. Praise Your name. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
