It Is Written

 


 

Matthew 4:10: Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’

In the wilderness Satan tempted Jesus 3 times. Each time Jesus responded with "It is written." The final time He commanded, "Away with you, Satan!"

Jesus' human mind knew the scriptures for He had studied them even from a child as was the Jewish custom. Satan tried to change God's Word by twisting what God said into a lie. Of course Jesus is the Son of God and these words were His from the foundation of the world. I believe His human part had to learn them as a child.

Satan also did this with Eve. Eve believed the lie and through hers and Adam's sin mankind all dies, but Jesus overcame the devil. He crushed Satan's head. "As in Adam all die but in Christ shall all be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:22)

Father God, Thank You for the victory in Jesus. Thank You for His example to really know what is recorded in Your Holy Word. You told man not to add to or take away from Your Word. Help all believers to be Bereans as You recorded in Acts 17. Help us to search Your Word daily to separate the lies of Satan with what You have truly said.

Lord God, people are believing Satan's voice of another gospel which You say is accursed, and if we believe it we are accursed. (Galatians 1:8, readers).

Lord God, I have wondered how what Jesus said in Matthew 24 would come about. "For there shall arise false christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." It is so amazing that I am now seeing how this is coming about in places that are teaching false doctrine like Bethel in California.

Help me and all my brothers and sisters to be Bereans led by Your Holy Word and Your Holy Spirit. I pray that we know we are Your elect by searching Your Holy Word, and we know we are Your elect as confirmed in what we believe and how we call out Satan's lies based on Your Word which was given once for all-not new additions or revelations by prophets and apostles in this age of grace. It is not possible to deceive us as we follow only You, Lord Jesus. I pray for protection of our minds, bodies, and souls. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Revelation 13:8 KJV   "All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world."   I believe the ones in the tribulation time who have not accepted Jesus will be the ones whose names will not and can not be written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Why I Cannot Believe in the Doctrine of Election

There are a number of scriptures which use an inclusive noun when expressing God's love and forgiveness.  Examples are: all, anyone, whosoever. Revelation 13:8 states "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (the beast which is Satan) whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) slain from the foundation of the world." KJV This verse  in Revelation states that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. It does not say names were written in the Lamb's Book of Life since the foundation of the world. "From the foundation of the world" modifies "Lamb" who was slain from the foundation of the world. Therefore, Revelation 13:8 cannot correctly be used to support the doctrine of election in which God chooses some for eternal life to the exclusion of others.  This verse does not say that  God only writes the  names of the elect in the Lamb's Book of Life.
