BEWARE! God's Word Is Our Truth Not Someone's Experience in Heaven
2 Corinthians 12: It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: 2 I know a man
in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or
whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— 4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
7And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
The scripture above is the Apostle Paul's account of his experience when he was caught up into the third heaven. "Some believe this event occurred during Paul’s first missionary journey, when he was stoned and left for dead in Lystra, but we can’t be sure. The privilege of seeing heaven no doubt gave Paul courage to face his later trials and suffering" (Got Questions).
This is the truth Jesus wants for us concerning those who say they have gone to the third heaven, and then write a book about it. In John 17:7 we read Jesus' prayer to His Heavenly Father: “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.”
Beware of these who say they have a special, and even new, revelation from God. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He would not tell Paul one thing and change His mind to give these new apostolic prophets and teachers something else.
Paul only saw the third heaven to exalt Jesus and have strength to preach the word already given to him. No new revelations! Paul was not even allowed to speak what he heard in heaven. So from where do the words these new prophets speak come? I won't go there.
All I know is that according to Paul, the words they say are not words uttered in the third heaven. Paul said the things he saw were not to be told. He had a thorn in the flesh given him to remind him not to speak them.
One of these last days' prophets claims she visits the third heaven more than once a day.
Again, beware of false prophets. They are becoming plentiful these days and have a friend via the internet to proclaim these false claims.
