The Passion Translation is a "Deeper Truth" of Satan
Revelation 2:24-25
“But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (‘deeper truths,’ as they call them—depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you except that you hold tightly to what you have until I come.
In the NLT works of Satan are called "deeper truths". Wow! This makes me think of all that is false in the church today passed off as a deeper truth. We have to be careful what we read on the internet, or watch or listen to in the way of Christian entertainment. If these things are in any way contrary to God's Holy Word we are to be like the Christians in Thyatira, one of the seven churches Jesus addressed in Revelation.
Jesus would say to the church today, "Hold tightly to the truth You have in my Holy Word until I come."
Father God, heal our itching ears. Cause us to use discernment. Help us to see that The Passion Translation is not a deeper truth of Your Word but the depths of Satan. In Jesus' name. Amen.
The man who claims ownership of TPT is soon going to be writing another book of the Bible. He heads up NAR, New Apostle Reformation, and he is pastor of Bethel Church. He has mixed truths with lies. The lies are "deeper truths" which come from the depth of hell. They are from Satan.
So much is out there now that is contrary and in direct opposition to God's Word. So many lies are mixed with truth, we need to really know God's Word and have His Holy Spirit discernment.
Lord God, give us discernment in these last days and may we hold tightly to what is true til Jesus comes. Show us we must reject all false teachings and not be lead astray because truth is mixed in with lies. In Jesus' name. Amen

ReplyDeleteOne final thought - the "reason" used for this horrible translation reminds me of a similar "reason" the producers of The Chosen use . . . . . . . . .

“With The Passion Translation, we have a high goal to being accurate to the text, but accuracy involves the heart behind it,” Simmons said in an interview last month. “We’re trying to discover, communicate, and release God’s heart through the words we choose.”
Yes, they are doing as the church of Thyatira who said they were getting God's "deeper truth" which Jesus said were lies of Satan. Your comment is good support for my blog. Thank you.
