Let Your Eyes Look Straight Ahead

 

 

Proverbs 4:25-27
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil. NKJV

Keep vigilant watch over your heart;
that’s where life starts.
Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth;
avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Keep your eyes straight ahead;
ignore all sideshow distractions.
Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust. MSG

Romans 13:14
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Father God, how hard it is to keep our eyes straight. Like the horse who needs blinders to plow a straight row as he avoids distractions, let us put on our Lord Jesus Christ looking toward Him as we avoid the world's distractions with blinders made from Your Holy Word and power in Your Holy Spirit through a constant attitude of prayer as we praise and worship You.
