Immanuel, God with Us
Exodus 6:3 (NLT) I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as
El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty’ —but I did not reveal my name, Yahweh (Adonai)
to them.
Adonai means that God is Lord of lords, Master of
masters, King of kings. Revelation 19:16 On his robe at his thigh was
written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Praying
as I worked in the kitchen this morning, Adonai was on my lips. Also
Abba Father. I felt so close to God as I said His names. I then thought
of how these names connect with our season of celebrating His coming to
earth to live among men.
Matthew 1:23
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means God with us).
Jesus
was born to die that we might live and have the gift of His Holy Spirit
living in us if we confess our sins and invite Him into our hearts. He
is indeed with us, abiding in us as we allow. So marvelous!
Therefore, we are restored to our Heavenly Father so that we might call
out "Abba Father" (Daddy) help me!
Father God, thank You for
Jesus living in me through Your Holy Spirit. You are Adonai, Lord of
lords. I acknowledge You as King of kings, Lord of lords, Master of
masters. As I do so, I am surrounded and filled with Your presence. I
know the fullness of Immanuel. Hallelujah to the King of kings and Lord
of lords. I thank you I am on this side of the cross so that I not only
know You as Adonai but Immanuel as well. This thought is too much to
comprehend its absolute full meaning. Thank You for the glimpse You have
blessed me with this morning. In Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I pray.
Amen.
