How to Apply Our Hearts Unto Wisdom

Scripture: Psalm 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Observation: I think this verse is saying that we need to be aware of how short our lives are. We need to ask God to show us how to make the most of every day. 

We read His Word to gain His wisdom on how to live. We ask His Holy Spirit to show us how to apply His truths in our lives. As we are faithful each day to read His Word and pray, we are able to apply our hearts unto His Holy wisdom, and thus live our lives  without wasting time. 

 In reading His word and praying, we become more ready each day for eternity with Jesus as we move closer and closer to eternity. In so doing we are applying our hearts unto wisdom.

Application: So, how do we apply this verse to our lives?  First of all, we do what Jesus said many times in the book of John, "Believe." And as Paul and Silas said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31)

We simply begin our journey of applying our hearts to wisdom by believing. Then we are able to move on through the power of His Holy Spirit received from Him when we surrender our lives to Jesus. 

We are able to obey Jesus' Words and become Christ like as we apply our hearts to His wisdom.
"In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."  (Colossians 2:3)

Prayer: Father God, I pray we all today will surrender our hearts to You, and begin to apply our hearts unto wisdom so that we are ready for eternity with Jesus.

Then may we fulfill Jesus' commandments, one of which is to share with others what You have done for us.  In Jesus' name. Amen.

Why I Cannot Believe in the Doctrine of Election

There are a number of scriptures which use an inclusive noun when expressing God's love and forgiveness.  Examples are: all, anyone, whosoever. Revelation 13:8 states "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (the beast which is Satan) whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) slain from the foundation of the world." KJV This verse  in Revelation states that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. It does not say names were written in the Lamb's Book of Life since the foundation of the world. "From the foundation of the world" modifies "Lamb" who was slain from the foundation of the world. Therefore, Revelation 13:8 cannot correctly be used to support the doctrine of election in which God chooses some for eternal life to the exclusion of others.  This verse does not say that  God only writes the  names of the elect in the Lamb's Book of Life.
