Caught Up Together in the Clouds

 S: 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.  

Matthew 24:36

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

 

 O: Jesus will return for His church, those who know Him as their Savior. The trumpet will sound and the dead will rise first with those still alive following.  They will be caught up together (raptured) with Jesus in the clouds.  Only the father knows the exact time this will happen. 

  

P: Father God, open our eyes and hearts to this truth, and give us understanding on how to live. I pray the following prayers for all who read this blog including our families, our friends, and those we do not know who found this blog through God. And of course, I pray for myself too.

  I pray we all receive You, Lord Jesus, as our Lord and Savior.

I pray we all will be abiding fully in Your Holy Spirit each day so that we will rise to meet You, Lord Jesus, in the clouds. 

I pray we all be found worthy to escape what is coming upon the face of the earth  as we depend on You, our Righteousness.

Why I Cannot Believe in the Doctrine of Election

There are a number of scriptures which use an inclusive noun when expressing God's love and forgiveness.  Examples are: all, anyone, whosoever. Revelation 13:8 states "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (the beast which is Satan) whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) slain from the foundation of the world." KJV This verse  in Revelation states that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. It does not say names were written in the Lamb's Book of Life since the foundation of the world. "From the foundation of the world" modifies "Lamb" who was slain from the foundation of the world. Therefore, Revelation 13:8 cannot correctly be used to support the doctrine of election in which God chooses some for eternal life to the exclusion of others.  This verse does not say that  God only writes the  names of the elect in the Lamb's Book of Life.
